If your spring label is missing or too worn to read, no problem — you can still order the exact replacement spring using your door’s height and weight.
This is a super reliable method, and we’ll walk through each step below.
First, you need to know whether you have the original TorqueMaster (TM) or the newer TorqueMaster Plus (TM3 or TMP) system. Here’s how to tell:
TorqueMaster Plus (TM3 or TMP):
If your winding end has a spring cone sticking out of the bracket, you’ve got TorqueMaster Plus. The spring tube label will usually say TM3 or TMP.

Original TorqueMaster (TM):
If you see a visible counter gear on the outside of the bracket, that’s the original system. It will be labeled TM on the spring tube.

This is the first thing you’ll choose in the selector under “Spring Type.”
Next, measure your garage door from the floor to the top of the opening. Use this rule:
Tip: If your spring label is still readable, it may list the door height there as well. But measuring is the safest bet.

If your spring is broken and the door is disconnected from the opener, you can weigh it at home using a bathroom scale. Here’s how:
Important: If there’s still tension on the springs or cables, your reading won’t be accurate.

Can’t weigh it?
Check the label on your spring tube. Sometimes it lists the exact door weight. If not, just send us a photo of the label and we’ll help.
Important: Single vs Dual Spring in the 50 to 110 lb Range
For door weights between 50 to 110 lbs, there are single and dual spring options. You should reference the label on your spring tube to confirm which setup you have:
- If the label lists two spring dimensions — one marked RH (right-hand) and one marked LH (left-hand) — your system uses two springs.
- If the label lists only one spring dimension, your system uses a single spring.
Visual check: Dual-spring setups usually have a winding cone and gears on both ends of the spring tube. Single-spring setups have the full winding gear and cone only on the right side. The left side may have a cone without gears, or just an idler bracket.
To be sure, take a clear photo of the label on your spring tube and both ends of the tube, then send them to us for confirmation before ordering.
Now that you’ve got:
Just enter select those details below and we’ll match you with the correct spring instantly.

Think of your garage door springs like the counterweight in an old elevator. Without them, your door would be incredibly difficult to lift manually, and your garage door opener would burn out trying to handle all that weight on its own.

Here's something that surprises a lot of people: there are usually several different spring combinations that will work for your 16x7 door. You might be able to use a single heavy-duty spring or two lighter springs, depending on your setup and preferences.
