Older Challenger openers were equipped with a variety of radio receivers and remote controls, many of which are no longer manufactured. If you need a replacement remote, check your current remote for the make (Multicode, LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Tec-Key, Linear, etc.), model number (examples: 3089, 2010, 2020, 61LM), and frequency (300 MHz, 310 MHz, or 390 MHz). Compare it with product listings and check the “Compatibility” tab on the product page to confirm a match with your opener.
If you cannot find a compatible remote, a Universal Remote Control Kit may be used. This add-on receiver includes a rolling-code remote and works with any existing keypads. Additional remotes or a wireless keypad can be added anytime, with the added security of rolling code technology.
👉 Please note: some original Challenger repair parts, such as gears, sprockets, and light covers, are no longer manufactured.
Check your existing remote for the make, model number, and frequency. Then compare it with product listings and verify compatibility on the “Compatibility” tab of the product page.
Some older models use remotes that are no longer available. In that case, install a Universal Remote Control Kit — it adds a new receiver and remote, works with your existing keypad, and supports additional remotes or a wireless keypad.
Parts were made for popular models including the CH-1000, 9100, 9300, and 9500 series, as well as compatible remotes and accessories.
No. Parts such as gears, sprockets, and light covers are no longer manufactured. However, compatible remotes, keypads, receiver kits, and universal alternatives can be used to keep your opener working.
