Garage door extension springs - for garage doors 7 - 8 ft tall. Replace your broken garage door extension spring now. We currently only offer double looped ends as we believe this is the best replacement option available (You can replace any end type with double looped)

How to order garage door extension springs:
You will need to know the height and weight of your door to order replacement springs, and then select the type of spring ends best fit your needs.
Door height:
Measure the height of your door from bottom to top of the door panels. 6'6"-7'5" - choose 7ft
7'6" - 8'2" - choose 8ft
Door Weight (how to weigh your door):
Verify Color Code:
Extension springs are also color coded, but the colors repeat every hundred pounds, so you should verify you are selecting the correct spring based on the height, weight and color if possible.
The color codes are listed below for reference:
Select Ends:
There are three options for spring ends that have their pros and cons. We only offer double looped ends for doors up to 200lbs as we believe this is the best option available for those sizes. You can replace any end type with double looped.
Extension springs require 2 springs to pull the listed weight. Example: it takes two 80lb gold springs to lift a 80lb door. Please see the item description for the spring you want to order for more specific information on size, life cycle, etc. We recommend replacing both springs at the same time to make sure they are evenly balanced. Over time springs will stretch and fatigue. You may run into problems when only replacing one related to those issues.

Think of your garage door springs like the counterweight in an old elevator. Without them, your door would be incredibly difficult to lift manually, and your garage door opener would burn out trying to handle all that weight on its own.

Here's something that surprises a lot of people: there are usually several different spring combinations that will work for your 16x7 door. You might be able to use a single heavy-duty spring or two lighter springs, depending on your setup and preferences.
