If you're working with a Wayne Dalton Torquemaster garage door system, you already know it’s engineered differently than traditional torsion setups. One key part that often gets overlooked? The Torquemaster Spring Sleeve Liner. This little component does a big job—and it’s one of the easiest ways to protect your entire spring and tube assembly from internal damage.
Our 48" Wayne Dalton Torquemaster Spring Sleeve Liner is designed to sit inside the torque tube, creating a barrier between the spring and the tube wall. That means less grinding, less noise, and a longer-lasting system overall.
As your spring winds and unwinds inside the torque tube, metal-on-metal contact can cause wear over time—especially if there’s no liner in place. This sleeve acts like a protective shield between the spring and the interior wall of the tube, helping to:
It’s one of those small parts that has a big impact—especially on high-cycle doors or older systems.
Even if you’re not replacing the spring itself, it’s worth checking that the liner is intact. A quick replacement now can save you a full spring and tube job later.
Installing this 48" sleeve is simple. Just insert it into the torque tube during a spring replacement or repair—no tools, drilling, or adhesive required. It’s a perfect fit for standard Wayne Dalton Torquemaster tubes and takes less than a minute to slide into place.
If you're already replacing the spring, adding this liner is a no-brainer. It’s like putting a fresh pair of socks on new shoes—it just makes sense.
Let’s be real: replacing a damaged torque tube or spring assembly isn’t cheap. A sleeve liner costs just a fraction of that and extends the life of your components by reducing wear and noise. It's a smart upgrade that can prevent expensive repairs down the road.

Yes! The sleeve can be trimmed to fit shorter torque tubes with a fine-tooth saw or pipe cutter. Just make sure to measure and cut carefully.
No tools required. Just slide it into the torque tube before installing the spring. It’s a snug fit and stays in place on its own.

We've found that replacing the majority of the hinges and installing the rest of the kit does a pretty good job of silencing the door without needing to deal with that bottom roller. If you really feel it needs to be changed, we have a separate process for that, but it's not necessary for most installations.
