How the Garage Door Slide Lock Works

The slide lock mounts to the inside of the garage door next to the vertical track. To lock the door, use the bent handle to extend the locking bar through the slotted opening in the garage door track. The extended bar blocks the door from traveling upward, providing a simple mechanical garage door security lock.

To unlock the garage door, retract the locking bar completely from the track before attempting to open the door.
